There are many surgical options for the treatment of disorders of the shoulder.  Surgery may be recommended for anything from conditions such as tendonitis on up to Rotator Cuff Repair and Shoulder Replacement.  Many shoulder issues can be treated without surgery.  We can provide treatment for a wide range of shoulder disorders.  Shoulder Surgery is performed by Orthopedic Surgeons.

Rotator Cuff problems are very common and are especially problematic with overhead sports or activities.  Often, the condition starts as tendonitis or bursitis but eventually can progress up to a torn rotator cuff tendon.  Sometimes the tendons tear in a specific injury, but other times they can wear out over time with very little pain or symptoms.

There are many treatments available for rotator cuff conditions.  These can include medications, physical therapy, activity modification, and anti-inflammatory injections.  When these treatments fail, surgery may be considered.  Surgery that may be effective include Arthroscopic Surgery to remove bone spurs and worn tendons, and Rotator Cuff Repair where the torn tendons are reattached to the bone.

If you have a problem with your shoulder, you can call our offices to schedule an appointment to be evaluated to determine what is causing your symptoms.  If you already considering surgery for a shoulder problem, or you think that you may benefit from Rotator Cuff Repair, you can see one of our orthopedic surgeons to discuss any possible procedures in detail.
